As we have been receiving more inquiries on dumpsters for estate sales and other large scale clean outs, we thought we would provide some input on the process to make it easier to rent a roll off dumpster.
Here are three quick tips to consider:
1. Identify what you want to keep - Before beginning your clean out frenzy make sure that you identify all important documents and items that you want to keep. People tend to stash important keep sakes away, it is important to do a full walk through of your space before the disposal process to ensure that important items do not get taken to a landfill.
2. Identify what you want to sell/donate - Set aside any clothing or furniture that you wish to donate or sell beforehand to make the process more efficient – this will also allow you to use the dumpster rental space for items that you wish to dispose of and allow you to have more space in the dumpster.
3. Hire an estate appraiser – if you have a good amount of furniture, jewelry, antiques, or other valuables that can be sold. It would be worth the while to make use of an appraiser’s service to give you an estimate of the value of your items.
We find that the dumpster that is most often rented for estate clean-outs is our 20-yard dumpster which can hold up to 3 tons of waste and anywhere from 110-130, 33-gallon trash bags. For more information on the other sizes we offer, please visit our “Dumpsters” page on our website.
